Obituary for
William Thulen
William W. Thulen Jr, age 54, of Stevens Point passed away after a courageous battle with stage four renal failure and liver disease.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 4:00 PM on Monday August 10, 2015 at the Shuda Funeral Chapel - Stevens Point. Reverend Mr. James Maciejewski, Senior Deacon of Sacred Heart Parish will officiate. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM until the time of services Monday at the funeral chapel. A general rosary will be prayed following the service at the funeral home prior to burial in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
William was born October 13, 1960 in Savanna, IL the son of Josephine (Duffy) and William Thulen Sr. William grew up in Illinois and worked with independent traveling carnivals throughout the Midwest. William married Laurie (Wiza) Thulen, on October 26, 1996. The couple settled in Stevens Point and raised their family.
William worked at Glodowski Trucking until his illness forced an early retirement. He missed being in “The Big Truck” and traveling the Midwest and Southeast of the United States. He enjoyed watching football and the Brewers. He loved his dog, Sadie, who came to visit him at the nursing home and hospital. He also missed our yellow Lab, Molly, who also died of kidney failure 3 years ago.
He is survived by his wife Laurie; their three children, Courtney, Adam and Nicholas. His father William (Ginnie) Thulen Sr. His sister; Renee (Jim) Goodman, Dahlohega, GA, His brother; Rodney (Dorothy) Thulen, New Boston, IL. Stepbrother: Donnie (Gloria) Shores. His father and mother-in-law Glen and Delores Wiza, Brother-in-laws, Mark and Sue Wiza, Brian and Amy Wiza, Keith and Arita Wiza. Nephews and nieces; Andy, Brooke, Heather, Travis, Olivia, Katherine and Sarah. Great Nephew Blake.
He was preceded in death by his his mother, Josephine; paternal and maternal grandparents; his uncles; and nephew; Robert Houston.
William's family wishes a special thank you to St. Joseph’s Hospital, St. Michael’s Hospital and DaVita Dialysis in Stevens Point and Marshfield. Three Oaks Assisted Living in Marshfield, Bethel Nursing Home in Arpin and Atrium Acute Care in Stevens Point.
