Obituary for Esther Kluck

Esther Kluck, age 92, formerly of Polonia, entered eternal life to join with her beloved husband, Lester. She passed away on Friday, July 1, 2016, at Care Partners. Esther has resided at Care Partners in her last years of illness.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Esther will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia. Rev. Gregory Michaud will officiate. Friends and family will gather to share memories from 10:00-10:45 am at the church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Shuda Funeral Services are assisting the family.
Born on April 21, 1924, she was the third of six children born to Leo and Johanna (Wrycza) Basinski. She grew up on the family farm and attended school in the Rosholt district. Later Esther moved to Milwaukee for a job and resided there several years, being employed at Globe Unicom Company. After WWII, her husband to be, was discharged from the army and they were married on May 18, 1946 at St. Adalbert’s Catholic Church in Rosholt. They were married for 62 years. In 1951, they moved from Milwaukee to Polonia where they built a home and lived there for many years. Esther was employed at Weber Tackle Co. for 32 years and after the company folded she worked several more years for ABL Lights, retiring in 1993. She loved to fish and along with her husband; they fished many lakes in Wisconsin and Canada. Every year she planted a large garden, harvesting its produce by canning, freezing and baking. Esther took much pride in her accomplishments, sharing with her family, relatives, neighbors and church. She loved listening to polka music, playing cards, dice, and going to the casino’s on Sunday with her husband.
After retiring she and her husband traveled to California, Canada and Europe. Esther had a special “Fuzzy Friend”, a Pomeranian dog named “Tiffy” or “Teko” who brought her many laughs and much joy. She had a great compassion for dogs and cats.
Survivors are one daughter, Carol Kluck of Whiting, one granddaughter, Renee Burton and her two children, Garett and Kelsey of Stevens Point, two grandsons, Mark Lilla and his daughter Meygan of Amherst and Curt(Heidi) Lilla and their three children, Michael, Hannah and Hailey of Stevens Point.
She is also survived by two brothers, Lawrence Basinski of Stevens Point and Jerry (Helen) Basinski of Rosholt and many nieces and nephews.
Esther was preceded in death by her husband, Lester, who passed away on May 28, 2008, her parents, one sister, Evelyn Budzynski, two brothers, Ben and Chet Basinski and one infant grandson.
The family would like to extend a “Special Thank You to the entire staff at Care Partners for all their care, love and compassion shown to Esther during her years of illness and a special Thank You to Heartland Hospice for your care an concern. God Bless you all.
