Obituary for
Catherine "Kay Kay" Hartlich
Catherine M. (Halkuski) Hartlich (“Kay Kay”), 74, of Stevens Point, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2016 at Aspirus Medical Center in Wausau with her family at her side. She was born March 11, 1942, to Alexander J. Halkoski and Mayme T. (Kulas) Hossa in Milwaukee. She worked in the Stevens Point Area School District for decades before retiring. She married Ernest Hartlich on February 28, 1964 in Stevens Point and spent more than 50 years of loving marriage together.
Kay Kay touched everyone she met with her kindness and humor. Her greatest joy throughout life was spending time with her seven grandchildren. Between hosting countless slumber parties, taking the kids on late night ice cream runs, and always offering a joke to lighten the mood, Kay Kay’s spirit, humor, and devotion will be missed my many. She was ever present in her family’s lives, always helping out and offering support, be it taking the grandchildren to their weekly piano lessons, or cheering from the sidelines at their tennis matches. She also enjoyed following and being involved in politics, and was always ready to debate the issues of the day.
Kay Kay is survived by her loving husband Ernest, Stevens Point; her sister Barbara (Mike) Molski; her two daughters, Karri (Brad) DeBot, Plover, and Suzanne (Mark) Bodelson, Hudson; her seven grandchildren, Jared Hartlich-Mares, Minneapolis, Brandon DeBot, Washington, D.C., Connor Hartlich-Mares, Minneapolis, Collins DeBot, Stevens Point, Suzanne DeBot, Stevens Point, Tanner Bodelson, Hudson, and Ashley Bodelson, Hudson; and many other friends and family.
A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, July 18. Friends may call between 4 to 8 pm at 3010 Springville Drive in Plover.
