Saliba Ghory
Saliba G. Ghory age 77, of Stevens Point passed away Friday morning January 27, 2017 at St. Michaels Hospital.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Saliba will be held at Noon on Tuesday January 31, 2017 at Holy Spirit Parish in Stevens Point. Rev. Dennis Stanchik will officiate. Burial will be in the Guardian Angel Cemetery. Friends and relatives will gather to share memories from 11:00 AM Tuesday until the time of service at the church. Shuda Funeral Service is assisting the family.
Saliba was born April 30, 1939 in Jerusalem, the son of George and Baky Zacharia Ghory. He moved to California in 1980 and began working as a service station manager in Belmont, CA. He worked there until he became disabled in an accident. During his career he won employee of the year numerous times within the company, and also was named employee of the year in the city of Belmont. Saliba became a proud American Citizen in 1987. While in Belmont, Saliba met the love of his life Catherine (Carroll) Bell, the couple moved to Virginia in 2001 and married September 27, 2002 in Virginia. They moved to Stevens Point in 2005.
Saliba is survived by his wife Catherine; 2 sisters: Laurice Widad Ghory, Jerusalem and Rose Juzy, Beirut. 3 nieces: Abier Shamma, Boston, MA; Maha Ziadeh, Brooklyn N.Y.; Bushra Ziadeh, Jerusalem. 2 nephews: Yousef Ziadeh, Ramallah Israel and George Ziadeh New York.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Karim, his sister Karimeh Ziadeh, and two infant brothers.
