Obituary for Roy C. Duda

Roy C. Duda age 92, a life long resident of the Town of Linwood passed away Tuesday April 17, 2018 at his home under the care of his family.


A Celebration of Life service for Roy will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday April 21, 2018 at the Shuda Funeral Chapel - 3200 Stanley St. Stevens Point. Pastor Matthew Mallek will officiate. Burial will be in the Linwood Cemetery. Friends and family will share memories from 4:00 - 6:00 PM on Friday and again from 10:00 AM Saturday morning until the time of services at Shuda’s.


Roy was born September 9, 1925 in Stevens Point, the son of Michael and Anna (Pazignot) Duda. He graduated from P.J.Jacobs High School in 1944. Roy was the 1947 and 1948 state Golden Gloves Champion. He married Margo Mills on December 30, 1961. Roy began working on the family farm as a child and later ran the farm with his brother Alex.. Farming was Roy’s life and he cherished the land and never took anything for granted. Roy believed in family and took care of numerous family members over the years.


Roy is survived by his children: Robert Duda; Debra (Kurt) Kostuch; Lori (Dean) Shuda; LeRoy (Tammy) Duda; Jeffery Duda. 10 grandchildren: Gracie, Addie, Shanaya, Maleah, Treyton, Talie, Caitlin, Maggie, Alena, Felicia. One great grandson, Briar. One sister: Irene Joswick. He was preceded in death by his parents, 7 brothers Edward, Joe, Bruno, Walter, Henry, Alex, and Raymond: one sister Helen.
