Obituary for Stanley Turzinski

Stanley Turzinski, age 91 of Buena Vista, Wisconsin was reunited with the love of his life on Sunday, July 8, 2018.

A Mass of a Christian Burial will be held for Stanley at St. Mary's of Mount Carmel in Fancher at 11:00AM on Friday, July 13, 2018. Rev. Edward Shuttleworth will officiate. Friends and family may gather to share memories on Thursday from 3:30-7:30PM at the Shuda Plover Funeral Home - 2400 Plover Rd, Plover. A general rosary will be prayed at 7:30PM on Thursday at the funeral home in Plover. Visitation will also continue Friday from 9:30-10:45AM at church. Burial will be at St Patrick's Cemetery - Lanark.

Stanley was born in Stevens Point to the late Paul and Helen (Kruzitski) Turzinski. When Stanley was two years old his family moved to the farm where he lived the rest of his life. He attended school at St. Mary of Mount Carmel in Fancher where his lessons were taught in Polish He boarded at the school during the week and walked home on the weekends.

Stanley married Marcia Helbach April 14, 1951 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. They were married for 56 years.

He worked for Portage County Highway department for 37 years, but his passion was farming which he did his entire life.

Stanley was actively involved in the Catholic Church and community. He served on the Almond School Board for several years. He and Marcia taught CCD in their home. He was on the parish council for St Patrick's Catholic Church, Lanark and Eucharistic Minister at St. Patrick's and St. Mary's, Fancher.

Stanley is known for his famous baked beans and potato pancakes which were often served at church meals.

He enjoyed spending his Sundays going to church, listening to polka music, visiting with friends and family at church picnics, and fixing huge delicious meals for his family.

He is survived by his eleven children: Judy Meyer, Plover; Roger (Laura Krist) Turzinski, Bancroft; Don (Debra) Turzinski, Almond; Louise (George) Sankey, Plover; Dan (Leanne) Turzinski, Almond; Pat Turzinski, Plover; Mary Turzinski, Plover; Audrey (Charlie) Warzynski, Almond; Ken (Susan Chekouras) Turzinski, Plover; Diane "Annie" Turzinski, Plover; Linda (Jeff Wepner) Otto-Wepner, Manawa.

Grandchildren: Billie (Doug) Riske; Jason (Phyllis Brandenburg) Meyer; Kendra (Dan) Cichy; Chelsea (Joey) Matejowec; Alana (Ben) Lewis, Neil (Sherri) Giefer, Jenna (Corey) England, Mike Sankey; Amy (Eric) Koepsell; Mandi (Kent) Dernbach; Dani (Jesse) Espe; Kiara Turzinski; Chuck, Dusty (Beth) and Marissa Warzynski; Sydney and Beau Otto; Matthew, Alex and Kyle Wepner.

Great-grandchildren: Hayley (Trenton Gregerson) Riske; Michael Riske; Kailey (Lucas Tice) Brandenburg; McKenna, Lily and Danny Cichy; Alex, Ryan and Max Matejowec; Nora and Meya Lewis; Aidan and Myla Giefer; Kyler, Mason and Kellen England; Addison Sankey; Camilla and Eliana Dernbach; Liam Espe; Callie, Kassidy and Mellony Warzynski.

Great-great-grandchildren: Jolene and Ella; Kai and Maddilyn

In-laws: Hazel (Don) Shulfer, Dave (Betty) Helbach and Bob (Helen) Helbach

He was preceded in death by his wife Marcia; his parents; great grandson, Nicholas Riske; brothers, Ernie, Ben, Ted, and Lawrence Turzinski; and sisters, Florence Sankey, Bernadette Przekurat, Bridget Paryse, and Theresa Helbach.

Stanley was loved by many and will be forever remembered as Grandpa Stash, Uncle Stutz, and Stashu.
