Obituary for Robert A. Hurd

Robert "Bob" Hurd age 83, of Rosholt passed away early Sunday morning September 2, 2018 at Maple Ridge Living Center in Plover.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Bob will be held at Noon on Thursday September 6, 2018 at St. Adalbert Catholic Church in Rosholt. Rev. Jeffrey Hennes will officiate. Friends and family will gather to share memories from 11:00 - 11:45 AM on Thursday at the church before Mass. Shuda Funeral Service is honored to serve the family.
Bob was born November 28, 1934 in Milwaukee, the son of Jules M. and Lina (Haushalter) Hurd. After his schooling, Bob served his electrician apprenticeship at Babcock & Wilcox in West Milwaukee, he contunued his career there for 12 years. He then joined the Milwaukee Public School System as a journeyman electrician and retired from there after 26 years of service. Bob married Romona Seitz in 1957 and the couple settled in Milwaukee and raised their family. Bob was a member of the 32 Red Arrow Division of Wisconsin National Guard, and a lifelong member of the IBEW Union. After retiring in 1994, the couple moved to Rosholt a year later. Bob enjoyed attending the Iola Car Show each year, he was an avid old license plate collector. He liked following NASCAR, listening to the Polka Shows on the radio each weekend, and was an avid Packer Football fan.
He is survived by three children: Roberta Hurd, Milwaukee, Roger Hurd, Milwaukee, Raquel Hurd, Rosholt. 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. His sister: Marilyn Maglio, Shorewood. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife in 2011, and their infant daughter Rita.
