Obituary for MaryAnn B. Niemczyk

MaryAnn Barbara Niemczyk, age 78, of Stevens Point passed away Tuesday September 4, 2018 at Portage County Healthcare.

A Mass of a Christian Burial for MaryAnn will be at 11:00AM on Tuesday September 11, 2018 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church – Stevens Point. Friends and family may gather to share memories from 9:30-10:45AM on Tuesday at church. A private family burial will be held at a later date.

Maryann was born in Stevens Point on January 6, 1940, the daughter of Ben and Dorothy (Peplinski) Hintz. She attended local schools in Stevens Point and graduated from PJ Jacobs High School. On October 19, 1957 MaryAnn was married to Richard Niemczyk at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Stevens Point. MaryAnn worked at River Pines as a Nurse’s Aide for 34 years and PT Assistant for 15 years. MaryAnn loved spending time with her family, her beloved dog Shiloh, and enjoyed reading and crocheting.

MaryAnn is survived by her 4 children: Rick (Mary) Niemczyk, Randy Niemczyk, Tina (Jim) Jaggar, and Tonja (Steve) Holmes. 2 sisters: Bonnie Szymanski and Sally Pavlowski. 12 grandchildren: Tammy Kizewski, Joseph Niemczyk, Barbara Newsome, Tamisha Maltesen, Chris Maeha, Jefferey Herne, Jonathan Gollon, Nicole, Gollon, Travis Flatoff, Natasha Monahan, Brianna Holmes and Hunter Holmes. She is further survived by 13 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren and 4 sister-in-laws.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard, son Russell, grandson Joseph, and siblings Kenneth, Bud, Elaine, and Dorothy and 5 sister-in-laws.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Portage County Humane Society.
