Obituary for Lucille Post

Lucille Ann Post, age 85, of Stevens Point, passed away in her home on Thursday, November 8, 2018. Lucille was born in Appleton on September 23, 1933 to the late Harry and May (West) Vandenberg. On October 13, 1951, she was united in marriage at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Appleton to Charles Lee Post whom she met when they both worked at Elm Tree Bakery. The couple enjoyed 67 years together.

A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Saturday, November 17, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 838 Fremont St., Stevens Point.

Lucille was well-known and loved for being friendly, open-hearted, kind, and generous to everyone. While raising six children, she invited other children into her home as their parents worked. A hard worker throughout her life, she also held jobs as a waitress, at Del Monte and Ore-Ida. She was very involved with following her children's and grandchildren's activities over the years.

Lucille is survived by her husband Charles L. Post, Stevens Point; sons: Charles L. (Cathy Wievel) Post, Plover, Gary L. (Brenda) Post, Milwaukee, and Daniel L. Post, Stevens Point; daughters: Victoria (Jan Withers) Post, Durham, N.C., Cheryl (Wally Sniadajewski) Post, Plover, Christine (Rick) Griesbach, Davis Junction, IL;
seven grandchildren: William (Julia), Moriah (Laramie), Leah, Breanna, Garret (Meaghan), Garth, Gaven; one sister: Agnes (Bernie) Merline, DePere; and a brother, Alvin (Bev) Vandenberg, Appleton. She is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews and many brothers and sisters-in-law.

She was preceded in death by her parents; eight brothers: Arthur, Elmer, Ambrose, Richard, Paul, Raymond, Floyd, and Harvey; and two sisters: Dolores and Rita.

In lieu of flowers, a donation on Lucille’s behalf can be made to Ministry Hospice or the Rosary Society of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Stevens Point

The family of Lucille wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Terri Hahn, her staff and Ministry Hospice for her care.
