Marvin Novak
Marvin A. Novak age 83, of Plover, passed away Thursday August 25, 2016 at St. Michaels Hospital.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Marvin will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday August 29, 2016 at St. Bronislava Catholic Church in Plover. Rev. Edward Shuttleworth will officiate. Friends and relatives will gather to share memories from 9:30 AM Monday morning until the time of service at the church. Burial with full military honors will follow at the parish cemetery. Shuda Funeral Service is assisting the family.
Marvin was born June 16, 1933 in Pine Grove, the son of Victor and Katherine (Shulfer) Novak. He graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School in 1951. Marvin entered the United States Army after graduation and was stationed in Germany during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge when he suffered a military disability he returned to Stevens Point. He worked at Taylors Drug Store and then Holt Drug Store before he began working at Consolidated Papers- Stevens Point Division. Marvin then began his career at the United States Post Office where he served as a carrier, letter sorter, clerk, and retired in 1996 in charge of VOMA,
Marvin married Josephine Hencik on August 1, 1964 in Plover, they recently celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary. He was an avid stamp and coin collector, he enjoyed puzzles, and Marvin constructed numerous Doll Houses that he would donate to others.
Marvin is survived by his wife Josephine, and their 2 children: Michelle (Bobbi) Benally, Van Horn, TX; Michael (Lora) Novak, Plover. His precious granddaughter Emily Novak. His sisters: Janet (Jerry) Courtney, Whiting and Esther McGovern, Kenosha, His brother Robert Novak, VA and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Jim, Chester and Joyce.
