Obituary for Wanda Domaszek

Wanda  Domaszek
Wanda E. (Karch) Domaszek, 87, of Amherst Junction, died peacefully, Thursday, July 20, 2017, with her children at her side, while under the care of Ministry Home Care and Hospice at Brookdale Senior Living Center.

Wanda was born February 20, 1930, in the Town of New Hope, the youngest of 11 children to the late Michael and Frances (Wysocki) Karch. She was born and lived for 80 years on the family farm. She attended Malloy School in the Town of New Hope.

Wanda married Eugene R. Domaszek on September 30, 1950, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia, WI. They were married for 61 years. Following their marriage, they farmed for 45 years together on the Karch family homestead. In addition to farming, Wanda work for Stanislawski’s Potato Farms for a couple of years. After retiring from farming, she worked for 10 years at Walmart, retiring in 2002 to care for her husband.

Wanda was a 65 year member for the Rosary Society and life-long member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia. She prayed the rosary and the Chaplet of Divine Mercy often.

Wanda enjoyed the outdoors, gardening especially her strawberries, working with the farm animals, and visiting family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include children, Gerald “Gary”, Wrightstown, WI, Patrick (Sue), Amherst Junction, WI, Louise (Arlen) Denk, Rockton, IL, Alan (Kay), Stevens Point, WI, and Carol (Mark) Busse, Amherst Junction, WI. She is also survived by grandchildren Rachel Domaszek (Dan Scardina) Minneapolis, MN, Andrew Domaszek, Lafayette, IN, Mark (Heather) Domaszek, Madison, WI, Amanda (Juan) Urrea, Brookfield, WI, Kayla Domaszek, Madison, WI, Rachel Denk, Machesney Park, IL, Michael Denk, Minot, ND, Laura Denk (fiancé Andrew Voigtlander), Roscoe, IL, Krista Domaszek, Stevens Point, WI, great-grandchildren, Jacinta, Jacob, Julia & Jasmine Urrea, Estelle & Corinne Scardina, Charlotte Domaszek, brother-in-law Robert (Bernie) Domaszek, Stevens Point, WI, sister-in-laws, Mildred Karch and Irene Karch, both of Stevens Point, WI.

Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, brothers, Andrew, Edward, Michael, Henry, Daniel and Raymond, sisters, Matilda Zaborowski, Agnes Rose, Helen Schultz, Alice Kizewski, and daughter-in-law Chong Suk Domaszek.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Wanda will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 24 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Rev. Joseph Birungi will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church. A general rosary will be prayed in church Monday morning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Wanda’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association or Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
