Obituary for Rita A. Schneider

Rita Ann Schneider died peacefully at the age of 92 on November 23rd, 2018. Rita was born on October 7th, 1926 in Rice Lake, WI to Frank and Mary Byrnes. She attended Rice Lake High School where she met her husband to be John (Jack) Schneider. She went on to receive her Bachelor of Arts at Mount Mary College in Milwaukee, WI. After graduating from Mount Mary College in 1948, she moved to Sheboygan, WI where she taught elementary school and where John Schneider pursued her. Rita and John were married August 8th, 1959 in Sheboygan at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. Relocating to northern Illinois, Rita taught kindergarten at Laura B. Sprague School in Lincolnshire for over 20 years.

Rita was an accomplished pianist and organist playing for local fundraisers, weddings and Sunday Mass at Santa Maria Catholic Church in Mundelein, IL and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Libertyville, IL.

Rita loved to tend her petunias and lilies outside and she enjoyed keeping violets, spider plants, and other plants alive for years inside. She loved the outdoors - camping, fishing, and hiking in addition to traveling throughout Europe after crossing the sea on an ocean liner. Rita was known to all for her beautiful smile and good sense of humor. In addition to enjoying her family, Rita enjoyed socializing with her colleagues from Sprague School and friends from Bible study.

Rita is survived by her four children: Bill Schneider, Tim Schneider, Pattie Hampton (Len), and Doug (Jen) Schneider, eight grandchildren; Jack, Danny, Karlie, & Jimmy Schneider, Lauren Hampton, Micaela, Graham and Madelyn Schneider. She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Mary Byrnes, four brothers, Henry Parks, Malcolm Parks, Bernard Parks, Francis Parks, and husband Jack.

A wake and visitation will held at Burnette-Dane Funeral Home on Monday, November 26th from 4-7:30pm, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10am November 27th at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Libertyville, IL .
