Obituary for Barbara Adams

Barbara passed away on May 2, 2020 with family by her side at the age of 79. She was born in Beatrice, NE on September 18, 1940 to George and Esther Hanke. Barb met the love of her life, Bud (Almon) Adams in Beatrice. They settled in Madison, Wisconsin where he served in the US Air Force and eventually landed in Stevens Point, Wisconsin where Bud was employed. Barb enjoyed ceramics and her ladies bowling club during her younger years. She was an avid bird watcher; enjoyed nature in general watching the deer and raccoon families when living in Rosholt. Her passion was collecting clocks of all sizes, shapes, singing and making noises. Barb and Bud were fortunate to travel and explore areas within the US and Europe. A few of her favorite places include London, England; Montana and Hawaii.

Barb was quite the fashion bug as she saved many of her stylish clothes from all decades. Of course, that could have started from ‘I’ll wear this again when I lose that five pounds’; just like many of us. She was looking forward to many adventures this year and had a few things to accomplish yet in her life. She was ornery to the end; give ‘em heck in heaven Mom!

Barb is survived by her children Lori Myers (Mark) Kalispell, MT; Craig (late Wanda Adams) Oregon, WI; Gwen Vandre (late David Vandre) – Hancock, WI and Carol (Terry) Wilson – Stevens Point. She was blessed with eight grandchildren (Kayla Myers-MacKay, Cody, Dylan Myers; Kevin, Bradley, Jeremy and Austin Adams and Donald J Guess) and five great grandchildren (Destiny, Addison, Owen, Wyatt and Carter).

Barb is also survived by one brother Terry Hanke, Beatrice, NE and two sister’s Jean Martinez and Sherry Anderson, both of Beatrice, NE; along with many brother and sister in-laws; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents George and Esther Hanke, husband, Bud Adams, twin sons Dwight and David, brother Donald Hanke and grandson Jason Myers.

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic the visitation and service will be live streamed on our Facebook page from 10-11AM on Monday, May 11, 2020. The service officiated by Barb's family will be at 11AM on Monday.
