Obituary for James T Brengosz

James Thomas Brengosz always said, “Live into the answer,” which he did to the fullest and unto the Lord until early Wednesday morning, November 11th, 2020. James went home to be with Jesus after a 19 month battle with brain cancer. James was born to Raymond Emil Brengosz and Mary Theresa Ehr on October 10th, 1963 in Oconomowoc, WI. James attended Waukesha County Technical Institute in pursuit of a marketing degree where he met the love of his life Cynthia (Cindy) Joan Weber. They married March 3, 1990 in Milwaukee, WI.
Shortly after, James pursued his real passion, the outdoors and dog training, by becoming a nationally renowned, American Kennel Club retriever trainer. They moved to Thomasville, Georgia in 1990, where he established his own business, Red Hills Kennel. Over the course of his career, he traveled extensively throughout the nation training and testing retriever dogs. He produced over 180 dogs in the Master National Hall of Fame.
They lived and thrived in Georgia for 19 years. It was there in the “Bible belt” where James and Cindy met Jesus and gave their lives to the Lord. The Lord sovereignly called James out of his business toward the end of his career, and he moved his family to Central Wisconsin to pursue ministry. Within a year of moving to Central Wisconsin, James began pastoring River of God Fellowship in Stevens Point. Throughout their nine years as Pastors, James and Cindy have brought many people into relationship with the Lord; counseled and changed the lives of numerous individuals, couples, and families; and built a thriving congregation of believers.
James’ heart and legacy was to create relationships, introduce people to Jesus, and mentor people into understanding and pursuing the call of God on their life. He had the extraordinary gifts of building relationships, serving others, and unconditional love.
James is survived by his wife Cynthia Brengosz (Stevens Point); his son, Christopher (Ashley) Brengosz (Pompano Beach, FL) and daughter, Miricle Brengosz (Stevens Point); his grandchildren Malik Simeton-Brengosz, Macario Brengosz, Mei’Lani Brengosz, and Mazrielle Brengosz; and his siblings Dave (Kathy) Brengosz (Wausau), Pete (Cindy) Brengosz (Neenah), John (Melissa) Brengosz (Nashotah), Cindy (Bob) Staley (Brooklyn), and Jean (Dave) Danek (Whitefish Bay). His in-laws: Fred and Carol Weber, Germantown; and brother in-laws: Fred Weber, Westbend; Michael Weber, Milwaukee; Jason Merkley, Milwaukee. Numerous nieces and nephews.
Celebration of Life service will be held on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at River of God Fellowship, 5600 Woodland Street, Stevens Point, WI 54482. Visitation will begin at 9:30 am with service at 11:00 am. Luncheon will follow.
In lieu of memorial flowers donations can be made to the family to cover medical expenses.
